Add Images, Videos, and PDFs to Products

Updated over a week ago

Overview

This feature allows you to add rich photo, video, and PDF document assets directly to the products in your Product Library. These assets can be used for two primary purposes:

  1. Customer-Facing Presentations: Showcase assets during an in-home project proposal to make your sales presentations more visually engaging, informative, and persuasive. This is particularly useful for improving customer communication and providing homeowners with a clearer understanding of high-value products, project scopes, warranties, or technical specifications.

  2. Internal Field Training: Load training materials, installation guides, or best-practice documents as PDF assets that your field personnel can access directly from the drawing canvas. This provides "just-in-time" learning to ensure tasks are completed correctly and consistently.

Availability

  • Supported Platforms: iOS, Android, and Windows

  • Subscription Requirement: Available for the Estimate tier only

What It Does

This feature allows you to associate visual media (a single photo and a single video) and supporting documents (PDFs) with a product in your Product Library. These assets are accessible directly from the product on the drawing canvas and can be optionally included in your final proposals.

Where to Find It

The ability to Upload / View / Edit / Delete all media for Products is available on the Product Library > Detail Page/Panel within the User Site.

Uploading Product Media

As an Admin User in the Product Library:

  1. Open the detail page for the product you wish to edit.

  2. Use the inputs provided in the Media Assets section to add your photo, video, and documentation assets.

Photo & Video

  • Photo: You can upload one photo in PNG or JPEG format. The maximum file size is 5MB.

  • Video: You can upload one standard video file. The maximum file size is 100MB.

Documentation (PDF)

A Documentation section is available under Media Assets for uploading PDF files.

  • PDF: You can upload one or more files in PDF format.

Controlling PDF Attachments in Proposals

For each PDF you upload, you have explicit control over whether it is included in the final proposal document.

  • A toggle, "Append to Proposal," is available for each uploaded PDF.

  • If this toggle is ON, the PDF will be automatically attached to the end of all proposals that include this product.

  • If this toggle is OFF, the PDF will only be viewable from the drawing canvas and will not be included in the final proposal PDF.

Presenting & Viewing Product Media

The visual and document assets will be visible in several key areas:

Tablet > Drawing canvas

A button to open/play media is available when the Product is selected. Tapping this button will open a modal where you can view photos, play videos, or scroll through PDFs. This is the primary access point for in-field training materials.

Tablet > Proposal Summary view

A button to open/play media is available. Tapping this button will show a full-screen view/play the media or open the PDF viewer.

Web > Proposals

On the Proposal Details page, a button to open/play media is available. Tapping this button will show a full-screen view/play the media or open the PDF viewer.

FAQs & Troubleshooting

Q: Can my sales reps present the media if they don't have internet access?

A: No, media assets are not available for an offline cache in-app in the initial release. An internet connection is required to stream videos and load PDFs.

Q: How many assets can I add to a product?

A: You can add a maximum of one photo and one video per product. You can add one or more PDF documents.

Q: Can I add media assets to bundles?

A: Yes, you can associate media assets with both individual products and bundles.

Q: Where do the attached PDFs appear in the proposal PDF?

A: If the "Append to Proposal" toggle is enabled for a document, it will be added to the very end of the generated proposal PDF, similar to an appendix.

Q: Can I choose to have a PDF appear only in certain proposal templates?

A: No, the "Append to Proposal" setting is global for that product. If it is enabled, the document will be attached to all proposal templates where that product is used. Custom placement within the proposal is not available at this time.
