Currently, you can not import a CAD format file (DWG or DXF) into ArcSite. You'll need to convert the file to a PDF or image file to enable importing into ArcSite.
ArcSite's Capabilities and Limitations
Converting Sketches to CAD Files: ArcSite does not offer automatic conversion of sketches or images into CAD/blueprint files. Instead, users must manually trace or draw over the imported sketch within the app.
Workflow for Using Sketches in ArcSite
Prepare Your Sketch: Convert your sketch into a PDF or image format if it is not already in one of these formats.
Import the Sketch: Use ArcSite's import feature to add the PDF or image as an underlay or background.
Trace and Annotate: Manually draw and annotate over the imported sketch using ArcSite's drawing tools. Note that you cannot edit the original lines, text, or objects within the imported file.
Tips for Working with Imported Sketches
Hiding Parts of the Sketch: If you need to hide specific parts of the imported PDF or image, you can cover them with filled shapes (e.g., white-filled polygons). This does not modify the original file but visually obscures the unwanted sections.
Export and Re-import: After making adjustments, you can export the modified file as a new PDF and re-import it into ArcSite if needed.
