Sharing drawings via a custom link

Learn how to share a view-only version of a drawing via Email or direct URL.

Send a view-only link to any drawing. Recipients can view it in a browser without an ArcSite account.

  1. Open the drawing you want to share.

  2. Tap Share Viewable Link in the top-right corner of the canvas.

2. Tap Publish to upload the drawing to ArcSite Cloud. The link won't generate until the drawing is published.

3. Set your access options:

  • Share Link - Anyone with the link can view drawing โ€” toggle on to allow anyone with the link to open it. Toggle off to restrict access.

  • Allow Download โ€” toggle on to let recipients download the drawing file.

Share the link:

  • Tap Copy Link to paste it anywhere.

  • Tap Email Link to send it directly from ArcSite.


What recipients see

  • View-only (default): Recipients open the drawing in a browser. No account needed.

  • Download enabled: Recipients are prompted to log in or start a free ArcSite trial to download. Once authenticated, they can download as PDF, PNG, DWG, or DXF.

Note: Recipients who don't sign in or start a trial won't be able to download the file, even if you've enabled the download option.

If you have allowed the option to download the drawing file per the settings you established when clicking "Share Viewable Link", the user you've shared the link or email with will have these options to download the application, log in or sign up for ArcSite to download the drawing file.

Once the user you shared the link/email with user clicks any of the options above and completes the authentication process, they will be given the option to download the file types we support.

โš ๏ธ If your shared link/email user does not complete the authentication process as a known user, or new user, they won't be able to download the drawing file types listed below

Once they are authenticated into ArcSite, the user you shared the link/email will will have the option to download the file type they choose.
