Sharing drawings via a custom link

Learn how to share a view-only version of a drawing via Email or direct URL.

Updated over 9 months ago

Exciting news! You can now easily share a drawing outside of ArcSite via a shareable URL or email action. This is a quick and easy way to get the output you completed to a supervisor or customer. Take advantage of this added functionality and start sharing your drawings via this quick link feature.

How to use the Shareable Link Option

  1. Click the share icon at the top right of your drawing canvas.

2. You'll now see a loading screen that indicates your drawing is almost ready to share.

You now have the options to control how this link or email is accessible. These controls can be updated in real-time if you want to restrict access.

What does the shared user see when I send a link or email?

If you did not offer the option to download the drawing file, your user will see a web view of the drawing you shared. The user you shared the drawing with will only have "view only" access to the shared drawing. (See example below)

If you have allowed the option to download the drawing file per the settings you established when clicking "Share Viewable Link", the user you've shared the link or email with will have these options to download the application, log in or sign up for ArcSite to download the drawing file.

Once the user you shared the link/email with user clicks any of the options above and completes the authentication process, they will be given the option to download the file types we support.

⚠️ If your shared link/email user does not complete the authentication process as a known user, or new user, they won't be able to download the drawing file types listed below

Once they are authenticated into ArcSite, the user you shared the link/email will will have the option to download the file type they choose.
