Summary

There are a number of export options out of ArcSite (PDF, DWG, DXF, and PNG). While all options can be sent by a variety of methods (Email, Print, etc.), the PDF export offers the most flexibility with regards to how the work will appear.

Tap on the Export icon in the top right corner of the screen

Orientation – choose between Landscape and Portrait displays

Paper Size – Define the output paper size

Paper Margins – Change the margins used during export. Useful if your printer has preset unchangeable margins. You can use this to overwrite those margins.

Scale – Choose an output scale from the existing options or create your own. Once set, the scale will become the default export scale for all drawings.

Here you can choose from a variety of standard Architectural Scales or create your own

Export Area – Toggle between exporting the Entire Drawing or just what is currently visible on the canvas.

Include Contextually Located Photos – If you have added any location-based – embedded photos to your drawing, you can choose to include them or not. When included, these can greatly increase the size of the PDF. This can be a problem as many email systems have a maximum size for incoming emails which these PDFs can exceed.

WORKAROUND – Alternatively you can upload the drawing to the ArcSite cloud account and then share a simple link with your intended recipient. They can directly download to avoid any email limitations.

Number of Photos per Page – Choose the number of location-based photos to include on each output page.

Location Marker Size – Choose the size of the number indicator icons that shows where each location-based photo appears on the diagram.

Grid– Toggle between not showing the grid or showing it as light or dark.

Line Weight Scale – provides a slider to change the relative thickness of the line weight displayed on export.

Once you have tapped the Export icon in the previous dialog, you will be presented with all of the export methods available to you on your iPad. Those will include, but may not be limited to, Mail, Print, Save to File.
