Deleting objects

How to remove objects from your canvas, erase part of a line, and create breaks in walls.

Deleting or erasing objects in ArcSite can be done using various tools and methods depending on your specific needs. This guide will help you manage objects effectively in your drawings.

Deleting one or more objects

To remove objects from your canvas, use the Select tool to choose what you want to delete, then tap the Delete icon.

  1. Select one or more objects using the Select tool.

  2. The Delete icon appears in the bottom center toolbar .

  3. Tap the Delete icon to remove the selected item(s) from the canvas.

Handling Special Cases

  • Lines Within Shapes: If the line is part of a premade shape, you cannot delete it directly. Instead:

    1. Select the shape.

    2. Use the "Break Apart" feature (available on iPadOS) to separate the shape into individual lines.

    3. Select and delete the desired line.

  • Overlapping Items: If you have trouble selecting a line due to overlapping items, try these tips:

    • Use the Free Select tool for more precise selection.

    • Organize your drawing using layers (available with higher subscription plans).

Troubleshooting

  • Pre-Saved Shapes: Some shapes from the library may not support the "Break Apart" feature, limiting your ability to delete individual lines.
