Two Ways to Set Up a Fence Library

Updated over a week ago

Choose Your Approach

The first thing to decide is what level of detail you need to capture in your library. Most customers will follow one of two approaches:

  • Full Setup (most common): This means that you will build full bundles (a.k.a assemblies) in ArcSite for all the items you sell. These bundles will contain as their components all needed materials and parts (such as pickets, rails, nails, concrete bags, etc.) so that you can easily generate takeoffs and accurately calculate pricing.

  • "Linear Foot" Pricing Setup: If you don't need material breakdowns, you can build a simplified product library consisting of the items you sell and their pricing (per foot, per gate, etc.) without breaking down the components/parts that go into them.
