Intro to Product Environment (Fence)

Updated this week

Let's dive deeper into the structure of your product environment in ArcSite. We’ll take a look at how all the features work together to comprise your completed library.

In the video at the bottom of the page, you'll be introduced to the three main elements that make up your product environment:

  • Products: A product is an individual component in your library. In a fence context, your products will be the building blocks that make up your bundles--items such as boards, wire, pickets, line posts, nails, concrete bags, etc.

  • Bundles: Also known as assemblies, bundles are a collection of products packaged together. These are the things you sell, so you will set up bundles for your various fence options, gates, as well as corner and end posts.

  • Product Groups: A product group is a collection of related products that can be added to a bundle as a single line item. For example, you might have a product group called “Post Cap Options” that includes three different products, each representing a different cap style. When using the bundle on a project, you’ll choose one (and only one) option from within the group that best fits the specific job.
