Auto Save and Auto Upload of Your Work
Updated over a week ago

ArcSite automatically saves and uploads your work to ensure that you never lose your progress, no matter what happens.

Platforms Covered: iOS

What This Means:

Local Device Saving:

Your work is automatically saved to your local device every few seconds.

Cloud Uploading:

Your work is automatically uploaded to your ArcSite cloud account in the following scenarios:

  • When you leave your drawing

  • When you minimize the ArcSite app

The work is uploaded in an "Unpublished" state.

Unpublished vs. Published Work:

Unpublished

  • Automatically uploaded drawings are initially in an Unpublished state

  • Unpublished work is visible only to the current user account, not to other accounts.

Published Work (Manual Upload)

If you want to share the drawing with others, you need to manually “publish” it using the publish icon located in the top right corner of the canvas.

About Your Automatically Uploaded Work

In most cases, your uploaded work makes no difference to your standard workflows. You will continue to work with your local version.

Below however are a few use cases to go over.

Lost or Unavailable Device:

If you cannot access your existing device, the uploaded version allows you to log into any supported device and immediately access all your work from the older device. Simply open your drawings as usual.

Switching Between Work and Home Devices:

Nothing extra is required to switch from one device to another. Your work remains accessible.

Knowing the Uploaded State of Your Work:

  • If you are in a location with no internet connection, an overlay on your drawing thumbnail will indicate that an upload is needed.

  • If you duplicate a drawing from one project to another or within the same project, the overlay will notify you that it needs to be uploaded.
