ArcSite and Apple - How it works
ArcSite, much like many other software and app development companies, partner with the Apple App Store to the increase visibility of our product within this large digital marketplace.
โ
However, by listing our application in the Apple App Store, ArcSite is required to adhere to the rules set forth by Apple which is inclusive of all policies regarding subscription creation cancelations, and refunds.
๐จIn short, Apple is in control and they provide limited visibility to subscription details and virtually no control over making edits or changes to ArcSite.
Determining the status of your subscription
If you downloaded the ArcSite application from the Apple App Store and created a new account using your Apple ID associated with your iOS device you are entering a 14 day trial period.
As part of that initial process, Apple requires/prompts you to commit to a purchase at the end of the trial period UNLESS you cancel 24 hours before it ends.
At this point, you have 2 options:
Option 1 โ You decline to commit to a specific subscription plan
In this case, you will still have the free 14 trial period, however, it will not lead to an automatic charge at the end of the trial. Once the trial has ended the account will be locked out and you'll have to pay for a subscription to continue using the app.
At anytime while you have the app installed you can confirm that no purchase is pending or has been processed by looking at your App Purchase History associated with your Apple ID. Instructions for checking Apple App Purchase History
Option 2 โ You selected a subscription type with a 14 day free trial
If you agree/commit to the 14 day free trial by selecting a subscription plan, your Apple ID account will be charged at the subscription level you are trialing, at the end of the 14-day free trial.
In order to avoid an Apple charge, you would need to cancel your subscription 24 hours before the end of the trial period. Apple requires you to unsubscribe using their systems. Here is the Apple Help Article on unsubscribing.
๐กNote: If you declined to commit to the 14 day free trial by not selecting a subscription plan associated to the trial right at the time of signup, but later, after using the app while in the trial period you toggled in app to view the subscription plans and select a plan and proceed with the purchase you will be automatically charged. In this case Apple views your actions as an intent to purchase now and your trial effectively ends.
Refunds
Apple has full control over refunds and ArcSite is unable to initiate or request a refund on your behalf as part of the polices set by Apple. If you've selected a subscription plan at the start of the trial and are set to be auto charged at the end of the trial period, you must initiate the refund request 24 hours before the end of the trial.
If you purchased the app after the start of the trial by selecting a subscription plan and were immediately charged you'll need to request a refund immediately from Apple if the purchase was not intended.

โInstruction on how to request a refund from Apple
If your refund was declined by Apple, ArcSite has no options or methods to override the decision made by Apple!
What if I donโt see ArcSite under my Apple Subscriptions?
If you followed the instructions above and do not see ArcSite under your Apple subscriptions, it is likely that you did not commit to the Apple Trial and therefore there is nothing to cancel. Instructions for checking Apple App Purchase History
If ArcSite does not show up in the Subscription list, you have nothing to do, and once the trial ends your account will simply expire.
If ArcSite does show up in the subscription list, you will need to remove it from there in order not to be charged at the end of the free trial.
Delete My Account Option
Within your profile settings within your ArcSite account you will see an option that is called "Delete Account".
This path does not have any control or connection to your subscription with Apple. Using the Delete Account action will not cancel your subscription with Apple
โ
This option is intended to hard delete your records from the ArcSite system and it will auto close you out from the app permanently. This option should only be used after you've settled any subscription cancelations, refund requests, or edits to your subscription with Apple if you wish to remove yourself from our records.
