A Beginner's Guide to Shapes

The Shapes library is one of the most powerful features in ArcSite, allowing you to add professional-grade details to your drawings in seconds. Instead of drawing complex appliances or fixtures from scratch, you can browse our extensive library, select an item, and drop it directly onto your canvas.โ€‹

How to Add Shapes to Your Canvas

Getting started is quick and easy. You can immediately access a variety of pre-loaded libraries:

  1. Tap the Shapes button on the right-hand toolbar.

  2. Find Your Shape:

    • Browse: Scroll through the categorized list (e.g., Appliance, Architecture, Bathroom Basic).

    • Search: Tap the magnifying glass icon and type the name of the item you need (e.g., "tub," "stove," or "sink").

    • Filter: Tap the Filter icon to quickly find shapes within specific categories.

  3. Place the Shape: Tap on any shape icon. It will immediately appear on your canvas.

Adjusting Your Shapes

Once a shape is on your canvas, it is fully editable. You can customize it to fit your drawing perfectly:

  • Move: Tap and drag the center of the shape to reposition it.

  • Resize: Use the orange corner handles to drag and adjust the dimensions.

  • Rotate: Tap the Rotate icon (curved arrow) to change the orientation.

  • Color & Style: With the shape selected, tap Color & Styles in the bottom toolbar to change line weights, fills, or colors.

3. Expanding Your Library (Optional)

If you need specific items that aren't appearing in your current list, you can download additional libraries at any time AND/OR create your own custom shapes.

Add additional pre-created shapes

  1. Open the Shapes panel.

  2. Tap the More... icon at the top left of the panel.

  3. This opens the Manage Shape Libraries menu. You will see all available ArcSite libraries here.

  4. If a library has a Cloud icon, tap it to download. Once the download is complete, it will automatically appear in your main Shapes menu.
