Bundle Configuration & Bundle Structure View

Updated yesterday

Bundle Configuration and Bundle Structure View are turned off by default. You must enable them in Settings before use. See Enabling the Feature below.

Overview

ArcSite bundles are collections of products that are commonly used together โ€” for example, a wood picket fence panel that includes posts, rails, and hardware. In real-world projects, the same bundle type is often placed multiple times, but each instance may need a different configuration: different optional products included or excluded, or different product details.

This update introduces two key improvements:

  • Per-instance bundle configuration โ€” configure each bundle instance on the drawing canvas independently from the Bundle Detail panel, including including or excluding optional products and editing product details.

  • Bundle Structure View โ€” a new view on the Report Summary page that shows bundles as individual line items with their full product hierarchy, so you and your client can review exactly what's included in each.

Enabling the Feature

This feature is in beta and disabled by default. To turn it on:

  1. Open your drawing in ArcSite.

  2. Tap the Settings icon (gear icon) in the top toolbar.

  3. Scroll down to find Bundle Structure View and toggle the switch to on.

1. Configuring Bundle Instances on the Canvas

When you add multiple instances of the same bundle to your drawing, each instance can now be configured independently. You can include or exclude optional products and edit product details โ€” all without creating duplicate bundles in your product library.

Selecting a Bundle on the Canvas

Tap any bundle instance on the canvas to select it. A contextual toolbar appears at the bottom of the screen with actions for that element.

Opening the Bundle Detail Panel

With the bundle selected, tap Attributes in the contextual toolbar. This opens the Bundle Detail panel, which lists all products within the bundle โ€” both required and optional โ€” and lets you configure them for that specific instance.

Including or Excluding Optional Products & Product Groups

The Bundle Detail panel gives you two ways to tailor what's included in each bundle instance: toggling optional products on or off, and swapping between options within a product group.

Optional products

Some products in a bundle are optional โ€” they can be included or excluded per instance. These appear with an inclusion toggle next to them.

  • Tap the toggle next to an optional product and select Not Included to exclude it from this bundle instance.

  • Tap it again and select Included to add it back.

  • Changes only apply to the currently selected instance โ€” other instances on the canvas are unaffected.

Product groups

Product groups are nested components within a bundle that offer a set of interchangeable options โ€” for example, a wood type or a hardware variant. Rather than including or excluding them, you select which option within the group applies to this instance.

  • Product groups appear as a labelled row in the Bundle Detail panel, with the currently selected option shown alongside a Change Option button.

  • Tap Change Option to open the option picker and select a different variant for this bundle instance.

  • Like optional products, the selection is per instance โ€” other instances keep their own option.

Editing Product Details and Price Parts

To edit product details or change price parts for a specific product within the bundle, tap the product row in the Bundle Detail panel. This opens the Product Details screen, where you can update the product's configuration, select a different price part, and review other settings for that instance.

Multi Selecting on Canvas

When multiple instances are selected together, the Bundle Detail panel shows a consolidated view. Fields where all instances share the same value display that value; fields that differ across instances show "Various". Any change you make applies to all selected instances at once.

To configure instances individually with different settings, select each one separately and update its configuration from its own Bundle Detail panel.

3. Reviewing Bundle Inputs Before Generating a Report (Inputs Tab)

Before generating a proposal or takeoff, go to the Inputs tab in the Takeoff & Estimate section. This tab consolidates all bundle and product instances from your drawing so you can review and complete any missing data.

How Instances Are Grouped

On the Inputs page, all instances of the same bundle type are consolidated into a single line item, regardless of how they are configured on the canvas. Any inputs you fill in here apply to all instances of that bundle type at once.

If your project requires different configurations for individual bundle instances โ€” for example, different optional products included for each โ€” set those up directly on the drawing canvas using the Bundle Detail panel before opening Report Setup. That way, each instance is already configured correctly when you arrive at the Inputs page.

4. Using Bundle Structure View on the Summary Page

The Summary tab in Report Setup now offers two ways to view your project totals: the existing Flat View and the new Bundle Structure View. You can switch between them at any time using the View Options menu.

Switching Views

On the Summary page, tap View Options in the top-right corner to open the view selector.

  • Flat View โ€” groups identical products into a single line item across all bundles. Excludes bundle containers. Best for purchasing, quoting, and inventory management.

  • Bundle Structure View โ€” shows each bundle instance as its own line item, with its included products displayed in a hierarchy. Best for design reviews, client-facing proposals, and construction documentation.

What Bundle Structure View Shows

When Bundle Structure View is active, the Summary page displays:

  • Each bundle instance as a top-level line item.

  • Included products listed beneath each bundle in a collapsible hierarchy.

  • Instances with the same configuration combined into a single line item; instances with different configurations shown separately.

Collapsing and Expanding Bundles

Tap the arrow next to any bundle line item to collapse or expand its product hierarchy. This helps keep the summary clean when presenting to a client.

Tips & Best Practices

  • If different bundle instances need different configurations, set them up on the canvas using the Bundle Detail panel before going to Report Setup โ€” configurations set on canvas carry through to the Summary page.

  • Use Bundle Structure View when reviewing the project with a client โ€” it's easier to walk through what's included in each bundle and why.

  • Use Flat View when handing off a material list to a supplier or for internal purchasing โ€” it rolls everything up into the cleanest line-item format.
