Labeling / Numbering Your Products and Bundles

Updated over a week ago

Summary

Easily add sequential numbers or custom labels to your shapes based Products or Bundles, perfect for keeping track of multiple items like numbered doors, lights, or specific equipment.

Create a “Numbered” Shape (Sequenced)

To create a shape-based Product or Bundle that automatically adds a sequence of numbers to itself:

  1. Draw the shape you want to number.

  2. Add the placeholder: Inside the shape, type the special code #SEQ#. This tells ArcSite to automatically add a number.

  3. Create a Product: Now, turn your shape into a Product so you can use it repeatedly.

Using a “Numbered” Shape (Sequenced)

Tap the Product or Bundle from your Product Panel. Each time you place the shape, it will automatically add the next number in the sequence (e.g., 1, 2, 3).

  1. Tap the Product from the product panel

  2. Numbering will automatically start

Create a “Label” Shape

To create a shape-based Product or Bundle for which you can add a label once on the screen

  1. Draw your shape.

  2. Add a placeholder character: Inside the shape, type a single character, like "L" or "$". This character will be replaced by your custom label.

  3. Turn it into a Product or Bundle: Save this shape as a Product.

  4. Set up the Label Attribute:

    1. In the Product's details, tap "+ Add Attribute."

    2. Name the new attribute something clear, like "Label."

    3. Toggle on "Use attribute to replace label in shape."

    4. In the box that appears, type the same placeholder character you used in the shape (e.g., "L").

    5. Save.

Using a “Label” Shape

Tap the Product or Bundle from the Product Panel. When you place the shape on your drawing, a window will pop up. Tap the Attributes icon in the bottom-left corner and type your custom text (e.g., "Main Door," "HVAC Unit 1"). The placeholder character will be replaced with your text.
