Workflow Guide
Goal: Convert an existing PDF into an editable ArcSite block-based template.
Steps
Navigate to Settings > Templates > Proposal Templates
Click "Create Block Template"
In the "Choose a Template Type" dialog, select "Create with AI" and click "Upload File to Start"
Upload your PDF file. This can be a blank template or even a past proposal you sent to a client. ArcSite's AI will analyze the document and extract the layout, text, images, and variable data (like client names, addresses, and dates) into smart, editable blocks
Review the generated template in the block editor. The conversion provides a close match to your original PDF, but some refinement may be needed. Adjust blocks, text, and styling as needed
When satisfied, publish the template to make it available in the app
FAQs & Troubleshooting
Q: What types of PDFs work best?
A: PDFs with text, images, and named fields all convert well. You can even upload a past proposal that includes client-specific information. ArcSite will extract variables like names and dates automatically
Q: What does not convert well?
A: PDFs with full background colors or background images are not well supported. Stick to documents where the main content is text, tables, and inline images for best results
Q: Will the converted template look exactly like my PDF?
A: It will be a close match, but some manual refinement is expected. Review the output in the block editor and adjust spacing, fonts, or block order as needed
